10 Tips for Marketing on Facebook

Even though Instagram and Tik Tok are quite popular, Facebook is still a must have tool.  Around 1.85 billion people log into Facebook daily, which is a huge audience.  By making the most of your Facebook Business Page, you can attract and engage visitors, push them to your website, and turn them into leads and eventually customers. 

Below are 10 tips that will help you make the most of your Facebook page.

Tip #1: Engaging With Your Audience is a Must

Engage with your audience via comments, reactions, and messages, this will help you not only increase brand awareness, but it will also allow you to tell your companies story.

Tip #2: Use Facebook to Promote your Company

You can do this by creating a Facebook Group based around your company and you can even use Facebook to promote any online events you have, like a webinar or virtual conference.

Tip #3: Make Sure Your Business Page Has a Vanity URL

In order to ensure your page is more shareable and easier to find, create a recognizable URL, preferably using your company name in it.

Tip #4: Update Your Profile Page to Have the Right Cover and Profile Photo

Use images that not only grab the attention of your potential clients, but also will convey what your company does at a glance

Tip #5: Fill out your “About” section and the Preview Completely

When people visit your page, they will view your “About” section first, there’s also a preview that is located on the left-hand side of your page beneath your profile picture.  Use brief, but descriptive text to make sure visitors will be able to tell what your company and Facebook page is about.

Tip #6: Respond Quickly and Earn a Badge

Facebook will award people who respond quickly to messages sent to them, the “Very responsive to messages” badge.  It’s earned when you have a response rate of 90% and a response time of 15 minutes over the last several days.  The badge can be displayed below your Page’s cover photo.

Tip #7: Make Sure Your Page has a Call-to-Action Button

You can choose from seven pre-made button options (“Sign Up,” “Shop Now,” “Contact Us,” “Book Now,” “Use App,” Watch Video,” and “Play Game”) and link it to any website page (like your homepage, a landing page, a contact sheet, a video, or anywhere else).

Tip #8: Utilize Custom Page Tabs

Facebook allows you to create Custom Tabs (the default tabs are, Timeline, About, Photos, Likes and More).

You can create custom tabs by signing in, visiting your Page, clicking the “More” tab and choosing “Manage Tabs” from the dropdown menu, then you can create custom tabs for basically anything like marketing offers, promotions you are running, etc.

Tip #9: Fill out your Blog Posts’ Meta Descriptions

When you post a link in Facebook, it will use a brief description and image, this is pulled from the page’s meta description, the HTML attribute that explains the contents of a given web page, it’s the short description you see on a search engine results page to “preview” what the page is about, and it’s also the copy Facebook will automatically pull in the populate the description of a post.  Try to ensure your meta description is less than 155 characters.

Tip #10: Try to Post Videos at least Once a Week

Videos on Facebook receive more than 4 billion views daily.  Make sure you’re the visuals on your videos are engaging and clear, the reason being, is that all videos on Facebook that auto play in people’s News Feeds are automatically muted, so you want your video to look visually good so people will want to stick around and watch it.
