The revitalization project of the Wynwood Arts District has been quite successful. With over 70 art galleries, retail stores, antique shops, eclectic bars, and of the largest open-air-street-art installations in the world, this up and coming district is guaranteed to provide entertainment for everyone.
New, interesting and creative businesses are flocking to this prospering neighborhood. Developers have taken neglected warehouses, shuttered factories, and other unused buildings and rehabilitated them and transformed them into the gorgeous and artsy art complexes, galleries, performing art spaces, restaurants, cafes, and other attractions that you see today.
Businesses and attractions like:
Circa 28 – Located in the heart of Wynwood, Circa 28 is a dance club that caters to the hip artist types that especially love Circa Saturdays, an event that includes two DJ’s, one spinning on the top floor and one downstairs.
Moooi – A better living via edgy design emporium that offers rare items like Maarten Baas’.
Austin Burke of Florida – Since 1945 this family run South Florida clothing store for men has been a staple for all well-dressed men no matter their income.
Give Good Works – A thrift store that not only promises bargain prices for fashionable items but also gives all of their profits away to the homeless, allowing their customers to not only get a bargain, but to also make a difference in the world.
Bakehouse Art Complex – Originally a 1920s bread factory, this warehouse complex houses 70 resident artists who occupy the 60+ working studios located in the building.
Wynwood Walls – This graffiti garden with a restaurant and bar was created by Tony Goldman, an early South Beach pioneer. This area is part free outdoor gallery, part amusement park (for grown-ups), and part open-air park.
